Auditions for the first SSCP Radio Play of 2018 are coming up quickly. The play is “The 39 Steps”, a famous Alfred Hitchcock originally Directed movie adapted into a radio play by Joe Landry .
Performance dates are May, 17, 18, and 19 at the High School Loowitt Room.
We will need 3-5 men, 2-4 women, and possible commercial actors depending upon cast size. We are in need of actors who can do British accents from upper middle class, to cockney. One Scottish accent. Most of the actors will be playing multiple roles, just like the original radio performances in England. So, voice characterizations are a must. All actors must be able to perform with a British Accent, either cockney style or middle to upper British class. One Scottish accent.
Players must be able to be at rehearsals, scheduled May 9,10th at Loowitt room of St Helens High School, and Tech Rehearsals May 16, 17th, and 18th same place. Start time is 6:30PM for rehearsals, except Wednesday May 18th, which will be 6:00pm. Performances will be on May 17th, 18th and 19th at 7:00pm .There may be an additional rehearsal or two scheduled before May 9th, for read throughs at Bertucci’s. Actors will show up for Performances at 6:00pm.
Please contact Keith Marks if any questions.Rehearsals will be a couple of days the week before, not finalized yet, and then during (hell week) tech rehearsals on May 14, 15, 16 at 6:30 PM. Players must be able to attend all rehearsals and of course all performances. Trying to shorten the weeks of rehearsals as much as possible. But, that will also depend upon you, the actors and your hard work. Keith Marks will be directing. Please contact him if you have any questions.
