Scappoose High School Drama Club proudly presents “The Curious Savage” by John Patrick

Savage (3)Mark your calendars! The High School Drama Club proudly presents “The Curious Savage” by John Patrick.  The play is about Mrs. Ethel Savage who has inherited her late husbands’ fortune and sets up a foundation to help those less fortunate to pursue their hopes and dreams. When her step-children discover what she has done they think she has lost her mind and have her placed into a “home” for the insane while they try to find a way to get their hands on the money. Prior to arriving at “The Cloisters”, Mrs. Savage converts her money to negotiable bonds and hides them.  The comedy continues as the Savages try to find the money. Meanwhile, Mrs. Savage strikes up a friendship with the residents of the “home” and finds that she prefers their company over that of her family. The search and disposition of the bonds leads to a hilarious final scene where Mrs. Savage has to make a decision about her future.
